I am an Associate Professor of Social Welfare at the State University of New York - University at Albany.
My main research interest is to better understand language and perception in the context of deafness and schizophrenia. Primarily I examine this by studying Deaf people who use American Sign Language. My current work investigates social cognition, vision, and the process and structure of psychosis across signing and non-signing populations.
